THE TOTUS ZAGAT

The weather is finally warming up, and we’re seeing our clients start to venture out for lunch and off site meetings. This has us talking in our office about the best local places for different types of food and atmosphere. So we decided to put together a list of our favorite spots in Melville.

BEST PIZZA

Bellagio Pizzeria and Restaurant (211 Airport Plaza Boulevard in Farmingdale)

We love Bellagio for a quick slice of pizza.  The service is fast, there is always a place to sit, and there are a lot of pies to choose from. Be sure to try the gelato at the front of the store for dessert … it’s delicious.

BEST SUSHI

Kohaku (2089 New York Avenue in Huntington Station)

This cozy, down-to-earth restaurant looks like a dive from the road, but trust us, the sushi is fresh and the best we’ve had locally. The staff is super sweet, the service is quick, and you can order off menu if there’s something you have your heart set on … the head sushi chef is an expert!

BEST CUP OF COFFEE

Emilia’s Bakehouse (664 Walt Whitman Road in Melville)

Great service and some seriously delectable treats make Emilia’s the perfect place to stop on your way into the office in the morning. However, we love this local spot for their coffee and the cute atmosphere. Try the pretzel croissant, it’ll change your life.

BEST SANDWICH

Roast Sandwich House (827 Walt Whitman Road in Melville)

A newcomer to the Melville dining scene, our clients rave about the paninis at Roast. All natural, whole roasted meats and a quick moving line make this the perfect spot on busy days when you need something substantial, but also need to be in and out.

BEST AFTER WORK COCKTAIL

Jewel (400 Broadhollow Road in Melville)

A quick drive from TOTUS, Jewel is a great spot for an after-work drink. Although a glass of wine or beer may cost you a little more, there’s usually live music, and the restaurant passes around free appetizers at the bar area. Now that the weather’s warmer, be sure to grab a high top outside and enjoy the late sunsets.

Houlihans (923 Broadhollow Road in Farmingdale)

With an extensive bar menu, and lots of specials, Houlihans is a more relaxed spot for an after work drink and a bite to eat. The bar area is also large, and there’s a full restaurant too if you’re in the mood for dinner.

BEST FINE DINING

Blackstone Steakhouse (10 Pinelawn Road in Melville)

This upscale steakhouse is trendy, has that old world feel to it, and is our favorite spot for dinner when we’re feeling fancy! The drinks are stellar, the steak is nothing short of incredible, and the service is truly first class. Be prepared to shell out some money for a meal here, but trust us, it’s worth it. Blackstone is also a great place to host clients you’re looking to impress.

BEST BURGER

Zinburger (160 Walt Whitman Road in Huntington)

One look at the menu and we guarantee you’ll be salivating. Creative cocktails, burger toppings you would never even dream of, and outdoor seating make Zinburger a great place to eat this summer.
