In recent months, we have seen a continuous growth of businesses looking for virtual office space for their companies. This has us thinking … as technology continues to improve, and working from anywhere becomes a reality, are virtual offices the future of our work spaces? I mean let’s face it, there are lots of advantages to having a virtual office.
ADDRESS
Address packages, for less than $100/month allow you and your company to use a business center’s professional address on your marketing materials, website, and to file your important business documents. Not only does this eliminate having to use your personal address for all things work-related, it creates a level of legitimacy for your business. An outsider will never know whether you have a mailing address at that center, or an entire staff operating out of that location. Phone packages and live receptionists can also provide phone answering services, and meeting rooms are available on demand for those times when you need a place more private than your local Starbucks.
COMMUTING KING
Say goodbye to commuting with a virtual office. Rather than driving into an office every day, those precious hours can be spent on the things that matter most to you and your business. Of course, we still love when our virtual office clients do stop by to catch up with us!
FREE UP CASH
Virtual office packages are significantly less of a financial commitment than traditional office space, which is what makes them ideal for satellite offices or test markets. This also makes them perfect for entrepreneurs or start-ups that are cash conscious. When compared to traditional office space, virtual office plans also afford companies the flexibility of a shorter term, rather than a lengthy lease when their business’s future growth plans are not always certain.
BUILDING A NETWORK
Business centers are fantastic incubators for local entrepreneurs, new businesses, sole proprietors and even professionals from larger firms that live locally. It’s a wonderful feeling to walk down the hall and bounce questions and business ideas off someone from a different industry. And even more wonderful is joining a community of men and women who are passionate about their businesses, and working hard every day to build their brands and networks.

I found it interesting how you mentioned how having a virtual office can tie a physical address to your online business so you can receive mail and perform other business needs from it. My son wants to start a business that sells wholesale playing cards but he doesn’t want to send them out from his home address. I will keep this in mind as we search for a virtual office for rent so he can define a physical address!

Thanks for your comment Ethan. You are spot on … virtual offices are a great way for small business owners, who work out of their home, to avoid having professional mail sent to a home address. It also enables these businesses to have a more grand appearance for their company (i.e. being located in a large office building) rather than a private home. If/when the time comes, we’d love to speak with you about setting up a package for your son. Be well!
